I just purchased a 2001 V6 4X2 Dakota. I'm wondering if there is a way I can tell if the truck has the Limits Slip Differential or not? Is there are number stamped on the vehical somewhere that I can look at?
-Thanks

The tag is actually on the axle tube next to the drum brake assembly. It should say something like "8.25 OPEN DIFFERENTIAL". The tag in the glove box should say if its open or limited... but the sure fire way to do it is just jack up both back tires off of the ground... put it in neutral and spin one tire by hand... if the other tire spins the opposite direction you have an open diff... if the same direction you have a limited slip.
