where is the fuel pump on an 88 dodge dakota and how do you know if it's bad or clogged. Truck will turn over but won't crank. I ran out of gas and filled it back up and it cranked. Happened again and it won't crank. I've been told it might be the fuel pump . Help!

I had a bad fuel pump on my '89. Get a Haynes manual. There's a procedure to check the fuel pump with a multimeter, but I can't remember it.

The same happened to me once in a chevy. I used an airhose to blow air into the gas tank and it started. I guess the pump just needed a little help.
