Message: Damn our cats suck. I would check out Speedtweaks.net i've seen aftermarket cats there for sale. I would trust it. How many miles do you have one your truck, because your cat is under national warranty up to 100,000 miles!

Message: Is that true that it has a 100,000 mile warranty? My truck I baught from an 80 y/o lady who never drove it and it has 56,000 on it. If so do I go to the dealership then or where should I take it?

Message: Is says in the EPA website that before 1995 it was a 25,000 mile warranty and or 5 years... AFTER 1995 it was a 50,000 or 8 years which ever came first. So if someone else knows more please speak up but that was the info I found.

Message: As far as i know the current law is all catylitic converters have a 100,000 mile warranty in USA and i don't think the age matters just mileage. But i think that this only applies for original cats.

Message: I had my cat replaced by the dealer about a month or two ago. They told me it was covered to 80K. I got lucky, because my truck only had a couple thousand miles to go! I was surprised to get my truck back the same day even! That has never happened before.

Message: Hey akaproph,
My exhaust is doing it too. I know mine is a loose clamp, can't get the d@mn thing to stay tight. Bolts and nuts are covered in rust. It's only a '00, but the humididty in New Orleans is like 100-1000% everyday... so it's hard to keep it from rusting. My dealer should fix it cuz it's under warranty, but I want them to weld it so no more prob.'s arise.
