Subject: Coming up on 80k, what maintance to do IP: Logged
Message: I am coming up shortly on the 80k mark in
my 98 dak. Just wondering if i should
have anything checked or done to it.
Just got an oil change and I think
its about time for my diff, tranny, coolant fluids
to be changed. I am also thinking about getting
my injecters clean, or should i check them out
first.
Only trouble i've had with it so far was
the transmission and a blown head gasket
from putting to much octane boost in
a 1/4 tank of gas.
thanks
now you know thats..................

Message: your OWNERS MANUAL has the recommended maintenance schedual in it already, so why ask the dudes that come here??????? You think they know more then engineers??????? Or did you thow it out as usless floatsam????? Just use the heavy duty schedual and your engine/drivetrain will last a very long time with Normal usage (driving like an 80 year ol man that can't do more then 20 and takes an hour to get goin that fast)

Message: Hey sic
I've got about the same mileage as you. I just got the diff flushed, the tranny was done a couple of months ago. I'm going to change the plugs soon - but I got premium wires and see no reason to change them unless they give me trouble (which they usually won't given that the boot is of better quality and holds up better to yanking). My timing chain went under warranty thank god, and I have known guys who owned their dodges for years without having trouble with that. I keep the maintenance book in the glove box to remind me of what it might need at mileage intervals. :)
