Message: I was just wondering what to look for when the belly pan problem is present? I have a 1997 3.9 Dakota and I have some spark knock at all rpm's and in the past few days it dosen't want to idle when I start it up when the engine is warm. It will stall untill I give it a little gas. After that it will smooth out. Any ideas?
P.S. I have done the 180 degree thermostat thing, it helped the spark knock about 70 percent.

Message: You should also look at putting Autolight 3923 spark plugs in it for the spark knock. Take off your intake air hat from the throttle body, if you are mechanical enough, take off the throttle body itself. Look with a flashlight into the intake, you may see a very light amount of oil at the bottom, but alot is bad (Bell Pan). it may pool around taward the back so look closely.
