Message: When they talk about a decarbon kit, I believe that he is talking about the kit you can buy to clean out your fuel injectors. It comes with a pressurized can of cleaner and you actually disconnect the fuel pump, secure power to it, connect the can to the fuel rack and start the engine. The engine will run for several minutes off the stuff in the can. Your engine will emit large clouds of gray/black smoke out the tail pipe. That's the carbon being cleaned out. You do run the risk of screwing up the O2 sensor because of the crud being shot out the exhaust manifold. If you haven't done this before, or don't feel mechanically inclined, spend th $125 to have a tune-up do it. Good luck.

Message: I turned over 2000 miles on my '02 Dak Sport + today. I've got the V6 RC, and, while it probably has enough power to do everything that I need it to do, I find myself wishing that I would've spent the extra few bucks on the 4.7 V8. But, I wanted to save some $$ and get the best gas mileage possible, and this truck was exactly what I was looking for, color and everything, so I jumped on it. It's only now that I think I maybe should've gone for the V8, so, if there's any chance that you might regret buying the V6...go for the V8.

Message: 98Flamereddak, Basicly Its a fancy fuel injector cleaner. You have to pull the fuel pump fuse, hook a canister up to the fuel rail, start it and let it run till it stalls. plug the fuse back in and your good to go. cleans all the carbon build-up the injectors, head, valves, ect.you should be able to pick one up at any parts store. runs about 80ish bucks

Message: My '01 Sport CC auto 3.9, just turned over 24,000 the other day. I have had no MAJOR problems but an uncountless amount of minor complaints that i have not yet acted on. Such as, stalling, need i remind you it's an automatic, i let the car come down to idle, put it and drive and the tach bogged down to about 400rpm and it stalled for no reason, this was at about 15,000 miles. That's the only time that it stalled, but on a daily basis it comes damn near close to stalling, when ever i shift out of park the engine falls on it's face below 500 rpm and then barely recovers. I'm a technician in training of 2 years and i've been told to clean the Throttle body with speacial attention to clean out the IAC. I have not yet done this but i think that it should not be the customers responsability to do it them selves or even have to pay for something like this at such a low milage. What do you think?

Message: I'd say stalling on a 2001 vehicle is a MAJOR problem, not minor. Mine has the tendency to want to stall as well when shifting into and out of park. Its only actually stalled 2 times but it runs messed up at idle. I cleaned the throttle body and iac valve and it didn't do a thing so don't bother. They just run wierd.

Message: My 95 has just under 80K on it. So far, except for that damn timing chain everything seems like normal maint. Brakes, oil changes (every 3000) Trans fluid at 30k and 60k, differential every 30k, surpentine belt, and tune ups. Been happy so far.

Message: I've got 50,510 on mine as of when i parked tonite....strongest engine ive driven. Only mods are K&N drop-in, 180-degree t-stat, and autolite 3923 plugs.
No complaints, major or minor, havent had to do anything but routine maintenance...oil changes every 3k, diff. and trans. every 30k, only other thing was a serpentine belt replaced under warranty by a nice dealer guy, because 'he saw one or two small cracks' in it.....hey, im not gonna argue with him!
Hopefully shes got at least another 100k or more in her....im in some serious financial troubles right now that mean the dak is going to have to last a LONG time, which i doubt will be a prob.

Message: Gooberlog, take it to the dealer!!!! mine did that, took 2-3 trips back to get it fixed, it was a blown gasket somewhere in the engine, and I saw the repair bill (still under warranty) and it was not cheap!!! Cleaning the ac will help a bit, but NOTHING like that.
Mine alos had a fuel pump go out, and it had some strange idel problems assoc. with it also. Thats a 250 bux part!!!!!!!!!!!
