Message: i only have a 75 shot the shot dropped it from a 15.9 to a 15.2. bone stock my truck was in the mid to high 17's. heres a quick rundown on the more major mods, performance computer, 4.10 gears, underdrive crank pulley,v8 tb, 75 wet shot. i've not gone into the motor, not even roller rockers. i have most of the external bolt ons. i think with good bottle pressure and spraying it sooner it'll go high 14's.

Message: is that an open diff or not daniel? i was tapping off 2.1s with my 3.55 open diff.... just seems you should of done a little better with the 4.10s. were you hitting the nitrous off of the line? without the nitrous i was getting 2.2-2.3 60 ft

Message: If the weather permits, I'm hoping to get out to Toronto Motor Sports track next Saturday, with a goal of getting into the 16s. So far, my best time has been 17.6, but with tranny problems. I'm hoping to get my gears installed by spring (I have 3.92s with posi carrier) and a good cat. No nitrous for me, if I can get into the 16s, that will make me happy until I get the 360 in.
97 3.9 CC Sport. JBA stainless headers, Borla Turbo XL stainless muffler & tip, 17 x10 Boyd Coddington Smoothies, FMS injectors, V8 TB, Quick D stainless air intake, Have but not Installed yet: 5.9 litre 360

Message: Do you guys know how much gearing does a tire swap give me if I put tires that were about 3-4 inches smaller than stock on the rear. I have a 3.55 open diff. I put them on and it burns the tire much harder now and was just wondering. However, it does majorly affect highway driving.

Message: NOSDART68,
The easiest formula is old tire/new tire x current gearing = the effective new gearing
example: 30" old tires that are switched to 27" tires with 3.55 gears
30/27 = 1.11 x 3.55= feels like 3.94 gears
There are things that affect this calculation. Going to larger tires will make it feel slow than the given new # due to the extra weight of the new tires. When going to shorter tires the oppisite is true. Also smaller tires reduce the tire contact patch which makes getting the power to the ground harder. To counter act this problem, try to go with a wider tire to maintain/increase the tire patch.
