 Subject: Help!! Fuel smell from exaust

I changed the TB on my 3.9 to one off a 5.9
this weekend and port matched my intake
manifold. Now I'm getting a strong smell of
unburnt fuel out my tail pipe. Any ideas?

Hey Dak fubar,
I had the same problem when I installed mine so I went back in and pulled my spark plugs and openned them up to .042/.043 and the smell went away.
Any one else have any other tricks????

Hey thanks I'll try that tomorow. I seem to
rember something about spark plugs in a
higher heat range. you think that would help?

No! I am still running the autolite 3923's. Just gapping them wider than the stock plugs were; .042 stock / mine are set at .044! I seem to get a better response out of it now, just make sure your plug wires, cap and rotor are in good condition.
