i have a flowmaster so my opinion might now even
count but i've heard really good things bout
Gibsons. they are not as loud as flowmasters. do a
search in the archives and you should be able to
find a good muffler for you.

I put a Magnaflow on mine. Took about 1,000 miles to break it in but it sounds pretty good now.

Um....buddy, did you just say that you want your Dakota to sound like a rice burner? AND that you don't want a Flowmaster? I think that it may be time for you to invest in a rice burner of your own.

'00 Dak V6, modified airbox with K&N drop in, 50 series Flowmaster and wishfull thinking on a Venom 400 chip but that might be a bit too costly.

My truck is also a 3.9 automatic...an '02 Sport RC. I just installed JBA headers, and I have the F&B TB and several other goodies sitting here, waiting to install. I've done a lot of research on mufflers over the last few months, and I bought the MAGNAFLOW #14256 stainless muffler. I was interested in more than just noise, which seems to be the big draw for the Flowmaster groupies. Besides a deep, mellow tone, the Magnaflow seems to be backed up by actual performance gains.

Pistolero, I just did the MagnaFlow catback [1 in 2 out]. The sound is great and only 1 day on it. Will take it to the track on Sat. Hope for gains. K&N is on it's way. Will attach it to the hat til I convince myself to build a tube. Shortest route is better? [yes/no] See ya.

Dan, remember the DynoMax #17748 is too long for the regular cabs...I tried it on mine and had to send it back to summit

Good luck at the track, JC...I was going to do a split duals like yours, but balked at the price and decided to just keep the single instead. That way, I could still keep the stainless muffler and use the stock exhaust pipe. I've got an Intense Performance intake that I have yet to install...do you mean that you're attaching the K&N filter directly to the airhat, without an intake tube? Let us know how it turns out!...P
