Subject: Transmission Fluid IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering if there was a transmission fluid that is able to replace the Mopar ATF 7176 +3 Auto Trans. Fluid? I know the Mobil ATF is not compatible, is there any others out there that will work? Thanx in advance.

Message: But there is different transmissions in the chrysler line up. A trans. fluid make for a 727 is not necessarly the right one for the 42re in the Dakota i have. Is it going to mess it up if i use this fluid?

Message: Type 7176 should always be used. Additives in the fluid work with the clutch plates to preserve them as well as making the lock up work correctly.
Shudder as well as other "funny shifting" problems can occure. Don't play games. use what it calls for.
