Message: I hope someone can help! Here is the story,I got a 95 Dak Sport/3.9, only mods so far is 180deg thermostat,K&N air filter, and muffler(single inlet/duel outlet)with hollowed out cat. All have been done for about 15,000 miles, now when driving the engine will start sputtering, never dying but loseing power. If I let off the gas and get back on it, it will do it again, but if I floor it, it comes alive great and doesn't do it again for some time. Any ideas? I need help

Message: have you messed with the trottle body at all? if
you over torque the bolts, it wont run properly.
so be careful when tightening them back down. if
you have taken it off before, try losening the
bolts some. i had that problem when i put on my tb
spacer. thats my only idea. hope its of some help.

Message: I HAD A '93 V6 DAK THAT HAD A WIERD PROBLEM THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK FOR,,, THE SENSOR DISK IN THE DISTRIBUTOR BROKE LOOSE AND WOULD CAUSE THE MOTOR TO LOOSE IT'S TIMING. THE DISK IS LIKE A MAGNET THAT PASSES THROUGH A SLOT IN THE DISTRIBUTOR. THIS MAY NOT BE YOUR PROBLEM BUT IT CAUSED MY TRUCK TO ACT ABOUT THE SAME AS YOURS, AND I REPLACED THE COMPUTER AND SEVERAL SENSORS BEFORE I FOUND IT!!!

Message: About the disk cost: I did not replace it I just kind of patched it, the plate or disk was broken loose on the distributor shaft and was causing it to "wobble" when the shaft turned,, I just took it off and was able to use JB weld to glue it back solid again. I was just going to do this temporary but it held until I sold the truck 2 years later.
It is easy to get to, take off the distributor cap , then pull off the rotor button and the plate is right there,,, it is flat and has a magnet that passes through a fixed slotted sensor that is used in the ignition timing,,,,,,, again , this may only have been a freak problem that only happened on my truck, but you should check it out if you are having missing or sputtering problems!
