Subject: Yet another dak ball joint post IP: Logged
Message: So I ended up replacing both my upper ball joints last night for my 01 dak. Drivers side boot was twisted and ripped. Passenger side easily spun like a top. But I still have a rubbing like like sound over 30mph's steering to the left. I'm thinkin either the lowers or maybe even a bearing, don't know for sure, too late last night and too many cold one's, to have the energy to pull my rotors. I tried moving tire with truck jacked up, but really no movement. Oh, and this is my opinion only cuz it worked for me, another way to check upper ball joints, especially really shot ones, leave dak on ground, and try to push upper portion of tire only. If there is excessive movement like mine, you better check your uppers. I bought my uppers unfortunaly from NAPA(sealed like stock), for a '99 dak. Bolts right up. Anyone have thoughts about the rubbing sound I still have? All replies appreciated.
Thanks in advance..
