We took the truck to the Houston Mopar Show for some "Test and Tune" runs and performance checks and have finally got her into the 15's. Granted, we also were testing out the new Sneeky-Pete system (60HP dry shot) but the engine definitely responds to cylinder pressure and loves the nitrous. We had some problems with the Nitrous solenoid and throttle switch (not functioning properly) but, when it was working properly, we were able to clock off consistent 15.0-15.1 second runs (all at 92mph). With some fine tuning, we're definitely going to put her into the high 14's with just the nitrous system. Once this is done, the turbocharger will be installed and we're looking at a mid 13-second V6 Dakota (if not quicker).

Message: I ran the numbers for the ET and MPH and came up with approximately 280HP to make that run. Going by the last N/A runs (and taking into consideration the ASE custom flash on my PCM)...it's about a 60HP Dry Shot from the Sneeky Pete (yes, I was running the juice). Without nitrous, she runs about a 16.0-16.2.
With the Nitrous, the A/F meter is still in the rich side (where I want it) and have a little more room for about a 75HP shot (if I want to...doubt i'll do it though).
I've still got traction problems and it looks like slicks are the only option from here to get any better times.
Tom ran his truck (consistent 15.8's all weekend long) and won the Car Club class (DML).
Maxx King (with the R/T-2 Twin-Turbo Package) didn't show up at all...no phone calls either.

Message: man just throw your wet system back on and 125 hp pills!!!!! you have your new pretty pistons now so you should! thats a pretty good 60 ft as is... i was getting that with my slicks (open diff though). That damn 100 shot use to spin on slick about 100 feet.
good for tom! at least he ran faster than at Ennis.
sucks that Maxx didnt show up... sounds like he got what he wanted and got out!

Message: Don't want the wet system. With the turbo system, all I need is a 40-50HP dry shot to cool things down. (Remember, the 40HP shot I was running on the S/C gave me about 60RWHP!)
On the 60ft time, slick will definitely put me at the 2.0 that I want. :)

Message: Not bag your new found accomplishment, but a 15.01 @ 92 mph is in the 260-275 range... flywheel of course. If you were running 94 and a 14.8 then sure, 290...
Good luck, hope it doesn't grenade or anything.
Sam

Message: i think if bernd fixed his traction issues he would get a 14.8.... time for some slicks bernd!
rememeber those are not accurate calculators of horsepower... i can go run my truck down the 1/8th mile and get a 9.5 street tires and get an ESTIMATED 253 hp. Now if i use my slicks i can get (and did) a 8.95 which would yeild an estimated 302 horsepower.... BUT slicks dont add power... that calculator only shows the amount of power it takes to get you down the track. If i used the MPH formula is said my truck would get an estimated 448 horsepower... i dont think so.

Message: Going by the tire slippage I was encountering out of the hole and at the 60' mark...14.8's aren't hard to get a hold of with slicks on the truck.
The approximated HP is taking into consideration the tire slippage. She's definitely faster than a 15.09.
Hey Sam...I thought you were going to run the PT at the show during the club rep runs? What happened?

Message: Wasn't registered to Race-- so I was opted out... That damn PT was a POS... Why put a shifter in that thing??? 1-3-(D)-N-R Put it in 1, and rev it up to 5800 rpm and it'll automatically shift to 3-- then (D)... ALL the while the shift lever was in 1... Throw it into 1 while running at 45 mph.. nothing happens.. drop into 3-- SOMETIMEs it would drop a gear-- other times it wouldn't.
They should have just made the shifter a little lever between the seats (ala Ferrari) F-N-R (Foward Neutral Reverse).
