Allright! I've finished "stage 1" in modding my 3.9. Here's what I've done so far.

1. The Tune Up - 3293's, BW Cap, Rotor and Wires
2. Gibson Dual Sport exhaust
3. Intense Performance intake
4. Relocated IAT
5. V8 TB

I still need to adjust the TPS - just checked and it's only at .058v.

I'm happy with the gains so far - but I'd really like to get the thing a kick in the butt off the line. Midrange and Top end are great and I'm looking at RR's and maybe a cam later. But what about the bottom end. Is putting a set of 3.92's in the rear the only direction to go? Any guesses how much a mechanic might charge to do that? No way am I touching the diff. myself.

I hope you mean it read .58... Anyways, if your gonna do RR's and a cam make sure you stick with the 1.6 ratio RRs. Gear swap-- I'm getting my 4x4 swapped out 3.92 with 4.56 w/ limited slip. They are gonna charge me 250 front and back at the shop for installing everything. However, my friend with a dakota got his rear end swapped with 4.10 and limited slip for 200 at the shop. So, it matters on the shop. Hope this gives you somewhat of an idea though. Your pretty much stuclk with bolt ons on the engine unless you wanna go real nuts. Some $$ and it can be done.

Thanks Tony

Yes, I meant .58.

That helps alot on the prices - I was guessing about $200 in labor. I've just never touched a diff so I wasn't sure.

Anyone have any good sites to pickup gears and lsd for an 8.25 rear?

www.ring-pinion.com if they dont have it no one will. They will hook you up with every part you need for a complete install. Give them a buzz.
