Subject: Throttle body switch IP: Logged
Message: I was just wondering if I could switch my throttle body with something other than a truck, like maybe a van with a 5.9L. I have a 99dak v6 autmatic sport. Thanks

Message: Yup...sure can. All you'll need is the V8 throttle cable from a V8 dakota. You can find them either used or new on the internet.
We carry them new (with new TPS, IAC, and Cable) for $220. (And if anyone has them for less, we'll beat them on price.) ;)

Message: That is great! I found one used online of 45 bucks. I will just use all of my sensors from the old one and buy a new cable and gasket. Thanks for the help. I will post the results when I am done.

Message: Just make sure you clean out all the ports on the TB as well as the IAC port (back of the TB) and your IAC solenoid tip.
Reset the PCM after the installation and let the computer find the idle. Do NOT step on the pedal while initially starting it with the new TB.

Message: Thanks Bernd, I will make sure to clean everything up real good before I install it.
To reset the PCM...unhook the negative side of your battery, then turn your key to start and hold it for about 20 seconds or so. This should do the trick. Hope I helped.
