yeah fazdak can let you borrow some of his prozac! I would have to say that the 3.9 is a decent truck motor. I use to actually use mine as a truck and pulled our boat with it several times and did a fine job of it. I prolly got 18 mpg pulling it and it stayed in 4th gear for the most part.

Hey I just noticed that pic of that sign that said something about the future interstate 69 lol... I only live a few miles from where that interstate ends, (indianapolis). Wont be the end for long though hehe.

personally I have to say that my v6 dakota with a 5 spd, even with no mods still burnt up most cars I have raced with it, after exhaust headers highflow filter kit and stage 2 module, there aren't very many cars that beat me. I have raced 4.6L mustangs with mods, supercharged civics and integras, older 70's corvettes, nissan maximas(wich by the way suck b/c my girlfriend has an alero v6 w/ k+n kit, wich blows away any maxima) a whole lot of cars have seen my dust, and short of a wrx or z28 nothing just leaves me. but like all these guys have said it's for pulling so even with 273 horsepower I still have a low geared tranny. so unless I replace that and don't want to pull it's never gonna be a sports car.

Well now, I think the driver is what makes the difference between two engines that are comparible in horses. Bring that old s mobile and beat this max.

Andy, I got a 3.9 that's doin some respectable stuff after I've been working on it, but please save telling your dreams of beating vettes to your psychologist. Did those Mustangs and vettes know they were racing or did you just pass them on the express way and call it a kill. (I took a Mustang once in a race (point a to point b, not off the line), but the reason I won was my driving skills, and the road conditions favored my truck.

I personally would like to see and of course pay tribute to this awesome example of a vehicle that beats mustangs, and vettes....whats next..Ferrari's and 911's? oh I know, leer jets?

I think I get around 18 with mine highway of course but I drive almost 2 hrs to work site.

Okay, I'm gonna have to throw up the B.S. flag on this one... 273 hp my A*#! With no mods yeah right... Bernd has modded the hell out of his Dak and still is in the 240's RWHP (I think). Unless you've swapped a 3.8 from a GNX there's no way in hell you're makin 273 hp in a six cylinder.
