Message: Gotta a question on how you put in your floor shifter. It's funny that I saw your post after you finished it, because I was just thinking of doing it myself. Was it a pain to get the wheel off to rip out the coloum shifter and all that crap? What brackets and cables did you come across to use? I haven't looked at it real good yet to figure out my approach on it yet. Just wanted to hear what's up with someone who has already done it. If you have part numbers on what you used that would be cool too. If you're like me though, you might have just went digging through a pile of Mopar nik-naks you have in a corner of your garage. Oh yeah, my Dak is '98 also. I'm going to do it as soon as I figure out what parts I need to get. I know what I need, I just need to know which ones, if you know what I mean. The quicker I get this figured out, the sooner I can do it. Any help would be great. I'm not asking for full blown blueprints and all that junk. Just the gist of it. I'm about as machanically and custimizingly inclinded as it gets, so doing it is not a problem at all.
Thanks alot in advanced for the help.
By the way: Major props on the ladder bar set up. really nice. Almost looks like it was originally meant to be like that.

well, it was a pain so i just pulled it off... broke the the little aluminum piece that holds it on.... thats how i fix things! ;-)
but yes it is a pain.... everything is welded or bonded together. I didnt feel like taking everything out. The only bracket i needed i made. I used a piece of aluminum angle and just drill some holes in it. basically you have to be able to get kinda clever with it and build something custom.

Message: Thanks for info. I don't think I'm going to take the same approach with the column stick. :-) I've learned to take things apart vise ripping them apart. You never know when you will need it again. I was thinking of going through my 727's and 904's I've got in my shop and use one of the brackets. Most of them are from slap sticks, so maybe I can get one of them to work. If not, I'll just make a bracket, I guess.
Thanks Man.
