Subject: liquid in exhaust? IP: Logged
Message: 98 cc 3.9 42K
a couple days ago i put in 5 of my autolite 3923's in and everything waz runnin fine..except that old champion...last nite i put the 6th in and it waz bad...so i went and bought a new one and put it in..it runs and idles steady...but when it's warmin up, smog is heavy out the exhaust..is this just because it's a cold engine? along with the heavy exhaust..i notice liquid waz coming out the exhaust pipe..and i smelld gas...after it warmed up the heavy exhaust went away but im kind of concerned about the stuff comin out my exhaust....is it just blowin out wut built up in the 6th cylinder when it waznt sparking?...help please..

Message: yes thats normal liquid... just some condensation. your smelling gas because the computer always makes it a little rich during start up.

Message: not quite greendak98 the real thing is you never noticed it before, ALL engines produce water vapor as part of the ignition process. In a cold exhaust system it condenses into water drops, in a hot one it does not.
