Message: Seriously, I think theres a few around here that have done it. The biggest thing to watch is the suspension I believe - heavier springs for the v8. I think you need the v8 pcm as well.

Message: jDoug is right. Just go anywhere and pick a copy of Mopar Muscle. The same add is in every issue, including the latest issue. These kits are great. A little pricey, but after you get these pieces, there is no more guess work. Just snatch out that old worn out 3.9, and bolt in the adapter brackets, and throw in the v8. Just remember, when you do this, you'll need a v8 tranny to go with it. The little tranny your Dak comes with, won't last very long. If you take the time to tear it down a put a shift kit in it and put all new cevlar parts in it, it will be strong, but it won't last as long as if you were to just get a v8 tranny. (been there :-( ) If you're gun-ho enough about, with you and a couple of your buddies, you could get it done in a weekend after you get all your parts together. You need to get the motor mounts, cross member, and tranny bracket from these guys. Also you need to get a v8 radiator. The 3.9's are kinda weak, and wouldn't be very efficient for a v8. Also, you'll need to get a set of stock v8 front springs to support the new weight. Depending on the year of your truck and the year of the motor you're are putting in, will determine what PCM to use, if any. When you do this, you'll need to beef up your rear a little to support the extra beef. ie. new ring and pinion (4.10's or 3.92's) and a pretty stout locker (I'd recommend one from Detroit Lockers) I've down this before, so I know it works. Message: Mopardude340, that's a lot of good info. I have a set of 3.92s that I bought a while back, but now I am thinking that I should just upgrade the whole rear to 9.25. I knew about the tranny and rad, but not about front suspension. I'm about to upgrade the shocks anyway, would adding some R/T springs (they are always for sale on ebay) suffice? Also, the motor that I bought is a 98 360 out of a jeep cherokee. I am assuming that the pcm is no use to me, but I hung on to it just in case. I'm pretty sure that the pcm has to be truck year specific and mine is a 97. I was lucky enough to get the engine complete, all wiring, computer, even the air compresser. I'm thinking that I might get a 97 mopar performance pcm if this one doesn't work, or if I can't get it or my current one re-flashed.

Message: lesley, the RT springs will work fine. just a suggestion, since you have to buy springs, why by stock ones? just get some hotchiks or any lowering spring for a v8.
on your 360... since it came out of a jeep, i beleve the jeep GC's came with a electric fan that should free up some HP for you, and you saved about $90 on a E-fan.
did you happen to get a tranny too?

Message: The tranny was available, but I just didn't have the bucks. I just got my brakes done, and one of my hubs replaced when the bearings went so the last couple of months have been really expensive ones truck-wise. I would like to get a good Hotchkis drop, but again $$ are a factor. It's going to cost a bit to get the motor in, and I still need the rad. I was looking at trannies on ebay, there is a place that sells rebuilt ones for not too much, with a core refund. It's frustrating to wait and do upgrades when I can afford it, but I guess anticipation makes it all the better when you finally get it done :)

Message: No prob Alyce/Lesley.
Lesley, since you have the wiring harness for the engine, you should be able to use the cher's pcm. You may need to find a dodge truck pcm (97) though becuase of different sensors and dash crap. R/T springs are find for what you want.
Any other questions, let me know. Later

Message: Hey Leslie, whatz up, I know it has been a while since I've posted on here, but I have some questions for you. 1st being, what are your plans for the 3.92, and 2nd what are your plans for the current engine, pcm, and wiring? I'm certain that you might want to sell both items or one of them, and if the price is right, I'm interested. Get back at me @ nafarious33@yahoo.com. Once again I'm still over seas, and it is deficult for us to communicate via telephone.
