JUSTIN, Make sure your coolant temp sensor wires are still intact. If you changed your thermostat lately, it is likely that this came unpluged (happened to me a few weeks ago.) The coolant temp sensor tells the comp the correct mixture of fuel and air according to the temp of the engine. This problem will also make it dificult to start. The part is cheap and easy to install. On my '92 3.9 it's located behind and between the alt. and a/c compressor, just to the right of the thermostat housing.

I have a 2000 dakota 4.7 that has exsessive fuel consumption maybe 350 km to a tank and have had no success in figuring out what can be the cause. I have had to replace the cat converter twice from plugging up and have had it in for routine maintenance since day. A friend of mine had a 2002 durango that easily got over 500 km to a tank with the same powertrain. would this tps make a diff

My 99 Dakota will sometimes start real rough, and only run with the engine revved up. If I take my foot off gas pedal .It stalls...Then I can restart a few minutes later. All will be normal. This happens erratically..The 99 doesn't have an EGR valve.Any suggestions?

Low battery or bad TPS. Check fault codes.

As Bob posted, most likely a weak battery. have it load tested by someone competent.

Thanks, I never would have thought a rough running engine would be from the battery..I'll take it down and have it tested.

Ive replaced the iac, tps, intake gaskets.. also closed off temporily, vacum lines going to different sections of the truck, evap, climate control n such. Im at a loss. all the evap lines look good, and there is a hissing behing the dash, but when i close off that vacume line going in that direction it still have all the syptoms.. 2000 4x4 3.9L Anything ideas what i should check before i take it to the dealer?

Rough idle, high idle, eradic problems. I spent a ton of money trouble shooting the obvious. finally i tracked all my wires to check for shorts, and narrowed it down to either bad computer or bad cps. I took it to dodge for a diagnostic to be sure. Bad computer. they wanted 900 bucks, but found one online for like 250.

2000 dodge 3.9 4x4 with code p0505. went from 13mpg to 15, fml
