What should the fuel pressure be for a 1993 3.9 V6 stock Dak ? I just had another fuel pump go bad and I'n thinking about just putting an aftermarket external fuel pump before the fuel filter on the frame .

I don't know off hand but any aftermarket one designed for fuel injected engines will work, the fuel pressure regulator controls how much pressure goes to the injectors, everything else is shot back to the tank.

What is causing the pumps to go bad? I've never even had one go on me yet.

I run it out of gas now and then .. My bad . This last time I was coming down a forest service road and had it at enough of an angle that it sucked a bubble . I swaped the pump out yesterday . Taking the bed off is the way to go !

Actually on all most all truck it is easier to take the bed off then drop the tank. It's only 6 bolts.
