Message: Couldn't say it better then todd, however depending on who you ask, the coil is worthless, maybe it depends on the brand.

Message: Yeah, I've heard that too. But for less than $30 it can't hurt I figure. I noticed a minor increase in idle quality with mine, nothing major. I'd really like to hook up one of those MSD systems next, they look pretty sweet.

Message: IAT Relocation only seems to hurt gas milage if you are pressing the gas pedal more. :0)

Message: 94 Dakota with 124,000 miles. autolite plugs, iat relocate, 180 t-stat, Dynomax 17748, dropped 2&2, Dotchtech shocks with poly bushings. I've noticed a big improvement in performance (pulling uphills, towing, and throttle responce)with these mods. $65 worth. My idle smoothed out too. I have an increase in gas mileage if I can keep my foot out of it.

Message: I'm not sold on the IAT relocation trick. I can't help but see how fooling an engine into thinking that it's running cold can do anything but turn the exhaust sooty and burn excess fuel. If the exhaust tip is black, think what the plugs and combustion chambers look like. This one isn't for me.
I just ordered a set of 1.7 roller rockers from Sam (rtdkota). Next up are headers, Intense Performance intake, Fastman TB, Magnaflow muffler, MSD wires and brass cap/rotor. That's it. I'm not expecting miracles, but hope to feel like it was worth it...

Message: Something to consider is the stock location of the IAT sensor. Next to a cast-iron head on an aluminum intake. Now, tell me how that can possibly be giving an accurate reading? Remember, it's an "Intake Air Temperature Sensor", it's supposed to measure the temp of the air coming into the engine. In it's stock location it's not uncommon for the sensor to become 'heatsoaked'.
I don't have sooty exhaust.
