Message: I just finished the old 3.9 to 5.2 swap
in my 94 dakota. Not a bad job to do at all.
If any one needs info I would love to help.

Message: Did you do the swap yourself?
How about other upgrades - did you also swap the tranny, or rear end?

Message: Yes I did it my self.
I kept the A500 from the V6,I will put a shift kit in it to help it hold out (hopefully).
My engine was out of a 97 Ram. I needed a dakota oil pan and flex plate, the V6 engine mounts are the same just diferent location on the block.
Also needed a V8 computer so I went for a mopar performance one
I used the V6 harnes and just added the other 2 injectors! No kidding, looked in a Hayne's manual at the engine wiring diagrams, found the pin locations at the computer and the other wire goes to a ground buried in the harnes.(had an old V6 harnes that I got the plugs from.
Thats the hard parts the rest is just little things like hoses, fan shroud ect.
The only thing I can suggest is the try and get an engine that is the same year as your truck only because dodge changes little things over the years like sensor plugs,EGR or no EGR but nothing major.
