Message: Yes it does, both the speedo and odometer run off the same cable or electrical sensor.

Message: 1)Yes your truck's odometer will show less miles than you actually driven
2)Your mpg will seem less because you are actually driving farther than it shows(with bigger tires). To actually get your mpg with different tires you have to (new tires/old tires x miles shown then divide that by the amount of fuel used.) Your mpg might actually drop if your motor has to rev a good amount higher or if the tires are a substantially taller/heavier.
3) To find how much your speedo or odometer is off go to WWW.DAKOTA-TRUCK.NET it will compare any different sized tires. They have a calculator that will also tell you what effects a change in tire size will have on gearing.
4) With the gearing, the tires will allow you to run that gear that you thought was a little too steep. Running slightly taller tires will allow you to split the gear sets.(4.10 vs. 4.56)
5) A different tire height can allow you to feel the diference between gears without having to change them. EXAMPLE: A tire height change from 215/75R15 with 3.92 gears will feel like 4.10 if you switched to 240/50R17 tires.

Message: I have changed tire size. Is there a way to get the gears inside the speedometer/odometer calibrated to run true?

Message: Yes you can get a gear for the speedo cable, but how close can you get I don't know. Krc makes a black box that you can set to any tire size to correct your speedo. Check out thier site www.krcperformance.com

Message: I got my speed recalibrator from Superlift and it works great. It is set for 2 tire sizes that you determine what they are. So when you switch back to stock or whatever you just flip the switch.
