Message: Hey. I have a 98 3.9L 2wd dak as well. I just got my third cat put on. My truck only has 83000km(im from canada). The second cat only lasted me a year and 4 months as well or just over 22000km. My new one probably wont last much longer since its seems to go so often.

Message: try replacing your O2 sensor I know it shouldnt go bad this early but its what makes those babies go to crap. or the final solution if you dont live in a sniffer state is to take it out or gut it. COUNTRY BOYS CAN SURVIVE

Message: your damn sure country boys can survive, i live in a county that doesnt do sniff tests, so i had my cat off for a while when the first one went bad, the problem was, i had no low end torque cuz of the oxygen sensor i guess, so does anyone know how to fool the o2 sensor?

Message: I know how to make an O2 sim. It is real easy to do, but I have found the check egine light comes on if my TPS is set below .75v. All you need is 0.1f @ 1/4w capacitor and a 680k resistor. Total coast $4. There are four wires going to the O2 sensor 2 white and 1 black and 1 blue. The resistor can be put in series with either black or blue wire, doesn't matter. Then use the cap. to connect both the black and blue wires together. I'll try to illustrate.
-----rrrrrc----- r=resistor
/////////c////// c=capacitor
--------c-------
Hope this helps and saves you money. Thats how a country boy servives. Saving money!
