Subject: Transmission Help IP: Logged
Message: I have a 94 Dakota with a 3.9 liter in it. The Automatic transmission has been acting up in it. It wont shift out of first or second some times unless the engine revs to really high RPMs. I think I read that there is an electrical sensor or electrical governor of some sort witch goes bad to cause this problem? I am also hearing a whirling noise as I dive (only when I am moving). The problem is intermittent some days it will do it and others it wont. The U-joints and center bearing are brand new. The whirling is somewhat of a squeal that comes from under the truck. I checked the brakes and everything is fine. It also doesn’t sound like the rear end either. Any help with these two problems is very appreciated.
Thanks,
John
