Message: Does anyone know if this will work in a 2002 3.9? If so, anyone have a part number? Is this a worth while upgrade? What have you noticed, good/bad, since the install? Thanks for your help!

Message: Love my Hurst - have it installed for about a year now. Your 2002 uses the same AX-15 as the older V6's do...it'll fit.

Message: Bernd,
The 2002s went back to the AX-15? Because my 2000 has the NV3500...
But there is a Hurst Comp-Plus for it too, they just don't mention that it fits on the V6. :0/

Message: Hmmmm...gotta do some more checking into this one. Had a 2002 V6 stop by the shop with an AX-15 in it (2WD Sport). Wonder if there's something else Dodge decided to do (again).

Message: I remember hearing that the 2000s had either the AX-15 or the NV3500. I'm not sure if they changed halfway through the model year, or what. Maybe they were just sticking whichever they had around on it. I'd be interested in hearing too...

Message: I called the dealership and they ran my VIN to find out what was put in it. It's official. I have the NV3500 5-speed. It's considered to be "Heavy Duty" whereas the AX-15 is not. I guess that's the difference. Not sure how they have it set up to determine which truck gets which transmission.

Message: Did you guys use the stock shifter boot? I see that there is an installation kit for the shifter kit. What is in the installation kit? Summit leads me to believe that it's just the boot and plate. $169.95 for the shifter and $25.95 for the boot and plate.
