Message: I have an oil leak at the front crank seal on my 99 3.9(i think thats where its coming from). Do i have to remove the front timing cover to replace that?? I noticed it seems to leak more when i have the front end up on ramps so perhaps its that seal at the front of the oil pan?? This is gay, why do i have a leak here already at 40,000 miles. My 89 lesabre didn't leak a drop in all the 200,000 miles i had her.

Message: Zed, I realize it's been some time since your post, but my '98 3.9L leaked in the same place with about the same mileage. I tightened all the bolts I could reach, escpecially the lower ones, and my problem went away. Hope yours has, too.
