Putting the 8 3/4 in wasnt a real big job for me but someone with not much mechanical background or welding skills would have a hard time.

This is what has to be done: a 67-70 B or E body rear has to be found (harder than one would think) then the spring perches have to be cut off of it.
I used lower coil over mounts, they double as a shock mount and I am one step closer to the link rear that I need. Next you have to set the rear in and get the pionion angle right and weld it all together ( new perches and shock mounts). After that is done you must adapt your braking system, mine was pretty easy I just took the distribution block and hard lines right off my 8 1/4 and it all bolted right onto the 8 3/4 but you will need a perportioning valve up front as the 8 3/4's all have bigger brakes than the 8 1/4. If I stomp my brakes on dry pavement it will pull the snot out of my nose now!!! well you can imagine how dangerous that is on wet.

You will need to realize a few things... you will no longer have ABS and youwill now have a new bolt pattern on the rear, it will be 5 bolts on 4.5" which is a VERY popular pattern so alot more custom rims are made in that pattern and are considerably cheaper but... you will have to change you front rotors to 1990 pieces so you bolt pattern matches all the way around.

So my opinion is this: if you have the time, skills or money I highly recomend this mod. If you can afford it you can keep a few 3rd members setup with various ratios and the whole memeber can be changed out in an hour or less (once you get good at it). I love the fact that almost every rim I see in a store or advertisment is now available for my Dak.

Good luck if you try it and feel free to email me directly if more info or help is needed.

92Dak, like I said in those last emails, I will get those picts top you as soon as I am able. Been a very busy couple of weeks, NFL ticket has got me swamped..

Good luck guys and take care.
