I have a question and hopefully someone can help me out. I have 3.9L v6 auto. 2wd std. cab, does anyone have the tow rating for me? Off the bumper it says 200lbs tongue weight and 2,000 lbs total. I'm looking to add (cant think of the name at the moment) but the hitch that bolts onto the chassis to use different receivers, so I'm looking to find the tow rating for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx for the info. I forgot to mention I also have the towing package on it. Main reason I'm asking is because I'm looking to tow a smaller pop-up campingfor a friend occasionally. Not sure exactly how much weight but it's more then I could pull off the bumper. If anyone has any more info that would br greatly appreciated. Once again, thanx for your help Dan.

I have a 02 CC SXT 3.9 auto,towing pkg & it's rated to tow 4,750 lbs and it can pull it cause i pull my race car to the track every week which weighs in about 4200 lbs with the dual axle trailer.....a little doggy on hills though.

Occasionly use to tow my show truck around, s10 reg cab on a tandam axle trailer tell I trashed my back bumper doing it. It should tow a pop up camper no problem. If you want to start towing cars, I suggest adding a few performance options.
