Subject: Wheels and Tires. IP: Logged
Message: Im getting the 17in RT wheels and and looking for new tires for them. I dont know much about what tires will work but was curious if anyone knew if a set of 204/45R17 would be fine on my 00' reg cab v-6. Or would a taller/shorter or wider/not so wide tire be better? Any info is appreciated.

Message: Don't go wider than a 265 or you will have clearance problems. I have 255 on my truck and they look good and work great.

Message: Mean 205/45/r17?? If so them will be VERY skinny. I would look at 245/45/r17, thats the size the camaro/firebird use and will be a dime a dozen. Are you lowered, or plan on lowering? If so look at getting that in a 40 series then.

Message: Sorry about the 204. The 245/45's look a lot better and are still pretty inexpensive. I dont currently have a drop but am thinking of getting a 2/3 drop sometime in the future, nothing really low.

Message: Yea, 245/45 will fit no prob. I have 2/3 with 255/50/vr17 and clear just fine. Infact I think theirs to much space still.
