Subject: IAT relocated, now Engine lite is on!HELP IP: Logged
Message: I made a homebrew intake (plastic) with a K&N cone filter for my '02 3.9L 4X4 V6. I relocated the IAT to just behind the K&N cone filter in the intake duct. Now my engine light is on and won't go off! Some one please help! My friend thinks that the engine was grounding the IAT, but now that it is treaded into plastic, it no longer has a ground. Is this True? What should I do? And how do you reset the PCM? Thanks in advance for any help!!

Message: my 2000 does the same thing everytime i take the intake off and start the engine.. all you need to do is take the negative terminal off the battery and turn the key over to start for about 30--40 seconds then take the key out and put the terminal back on and start the engine let it idle for a few minutes and your ready to go

Message: No it is not self grounding. Many people have put them in plastic etc. I had no check engine lite on mine. How did you extend the wires?? Solder them, do not but-splice or twist them!!!!

Message: did you recheck your wiring that the same "extender" wires match the same colors at both ends?

Message: Mine did that too, ended up being a loose connection in the wiring. :0)
Yeah, you have to reset the computer. Use the negative battery lead trick posted above!

Message: I'll try to reset the PCM, and I'll check the wires again too. I did butt splice them, but i'll verify everything is connected correctly one more time. Thanks for the info. That's why this site is so great. Dak folk taking care of Dak folk!!
