Personally I like the Dynomax super turbo muffler. It sounds good at start up and makes a pretty good sound at take off. I noticed the difference.

Dynomax! Dynomax! Dynomax!

Gave the perfect amount of extra horsepower for that extra "pick me up" at acceleration. More quiet in the cab than the Flowmaster 50 Series I had installed and has the nice deep sound I wanted. It was not too loud, just right. I put P/N WLK-17734 from summitracing.com. The Dynomax was also ALOT cheaper than the Flowmaster I bought, I wish I had bought it first.

Good Luck...Choose Wisely!!

If your interested, I have the dynomax muffler that is mentioned in this thread.(17734)
It was installed on my truck for about 1 month.
It already has the piping attached to fit perfectly to replace the stock muffler, no welding, cutting, etc... Just un-bolt and bolt the new one on.
If you are interested e-mail me at: j2slow2go@hotmail.com
I can ship anywhere in Canada and US.

Myself I don't have a pic of one installed, but it would sit in the same place as the stock one but the dynomax will be on an angle fits perfectly between the shaft and frame.

I chose the 17748,DynoMax Super Turbo center 2 1/2" inlet, to single 2 1/2" ofset outlet. I have had it on close to a month and love it!! Not loud in cab, nice sound @ startup and when I slam my foot down. I also noticed a great differance in performance, especially when passing or in the :sweet spot, between 2500 and 3500 rpm's. This muffler is 3" shorter than stock, easily fixed with a 3" 2 1/2" ID, to an 2 1/2" OD sleeve. I also took a pic of install, but as you can see I haven't had a chance to upload a pic of my dak. I am hoping within the next few weeks to upload pic. BTW, I bought my muffler from Summit for $47.00 to my door. Lik mentioned above, chose wisley, read current ans past threads, these guys know what they're talkin about!
Good Luck
Brian

DakotaDan,
I had to remove it because it's a company truck, and my boss got pretty mad that I altered the truck :(
He actually only knew because he saw the work order on my desk! (I now know that the boss does snoop around on week-ends:) ).
The sound was great, I loved it.
The muffler is so easy to put on and take off, once I put it on just for the week-end.

2slow2go,
What year of truck was your Dynomax on. I have been looking for a good muffler for my 01 CC 3.9 4x4 for a while now. How would you describe the sound? I want one that is pretty quiet in the cab, but has a nice rumble (as close to a V8 as I can).

Also, does anyone know if putting on a new muffler voids any of my warranty? Thanks.
