Subject: Recommend some spark plug wires? IP: Logged
Message: Anybody know of any good performance spark plug wires?
My stockers are working fine, but I figure I'll swap 'em out since I got 70K+ on my 98 dak cc SLT.

Message: I just installed the MSD Superconductor wires (like an hour ago)...partno: 32969 ('97-'00) which I got from Summit Racing. I wasn't going to bother w/wires but saw a couple posts saying they got a good mpg increase from them. Judging from the looks of my stock cap & rotor (~40k miles), replacing those alone will be a big improvement.
Recently someone posted that the MSD wires weren't any good, but it seemed like a rant so I ignored it. I called the local speed shop to see if they had them in stock (didn't)& gasped at the cost. When I asked what else they would recommend (cheaper) they said maybe the Bosh, but said the MSD superconductors were the best out there right now. I got them from Summit for a bit less, then also saw they can be special ordered from Autozone.
If you're going to replace the cap & rotor at the same time, the Borg-Warner parnums are:
cap - C273, rotor - D223
and can be found at PepBoys. NAPA is supposed to have identical cap & rotor, but they don't list them online.

Message: I put the Borg Warner SuperMags (I think thats the name) on mine. They don't seem to be terribly popular around here, but I figured they were better than stock. $30 at the local parts store.

Message: I just put the accel 8mm spiral core high performance wires on. There is definately a difference in response, and it idles so much smoother. And it actually performes a little better also. The only thing that sucked about these wires is that i had to put the rotor boots and contacts on myself. Wasnt too bad though.
