Subject: A couple questions IP: Logged
Message: First off, I read at krcperformance.com that if you add a stock v8 tb (like one off of a 5.2 or 5.9) you will lose a lot of low end. Is this true? Also, I read from a past post that removing your cat will make you lose a lot of low end. Is this true for my 93 Dakota? All help is appreciated.

Message: I didn't notice a change in low end, but i didn't dyno test it. I don't see how you could lose it, it's not like changing the exhaust back pressure. The engine will only suck in through the TB the amount of air that it can use. Your just making more air available for it.

Message: Haven't done it myself but from what I have read from others is that removing the cat will reduce backpressure and therefore effect your bottom end torque. These engines need a certain amount of backpressure for the valves to function properly.
