Message: Ok. I have an 87 dakota express se. I think it replaced the 'lil red express' from previous years. My uncle bought it new from the Dodge plant that he worked at for 37 years. He then gave the truck to my dad...who has since passed away (cancer). Now, I have the truck. I would like to restore it; However, I CANNOT find any original pictures of this PRODUCTION model...ANYWHERE. It came from the factory with: roll bar with extensions down the top of the bed on both sides, roll bar fog lights, step side bed, tail gate with chains and hooks to close it (no latch), running boards, aluminum wheels, 4wd, red in color-with decals, bug shield, windshield visor, and retail price was approx $27,000 (in 87'). I need pictures in order to get it back to original cond. Unfortunately, my uncle and dad treated it like the work truck that it is.
thanks for any ideas/help.

Message: Someone paid 27K for an anemic v6 pickup and then treated it like a work truck?!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn.
I do remeber seeing the picts of it in Mopar mags but I have like a million of those mags, it would take me a year to find it.
I want to do some searches in em anyway so if I find it I'll let you know.

Message: 27 large? Thats more than twice what I paid for my 88. Anyway. Check in a book called Dodge Pickup Color History, by Donn Bunn and Mike Mueller. It mentions the 1990 LRE and has a small write up on it along with a picture. Are you sure it's not a Mopar Express? They has a Shelby cab extention and some graphics on it. Hope this helps, Jim

Message: I think you have a dealer installed situationon on your hands.
I just looked thru a few old mags and saw a Little Red Express option but it was a fiberglass bed that was sold exclusivly thru a few dealerships and some dealers installed some with graphics packages but it dosent look like it was ever a factory thing.
Write Mopar Muscle and Mopar Action, they will be able to give you the definitive answer.

Message: Hi,
This is my 87 Express 4 x 4 the conversion was done by Country Sales Inc. but I cannot find any info on them I wonder if they became L.E.R. that is the co. that did the 90-92 Little Red express Dakota.
I have found very little info on the 87 express.
If you can share anything you know that would be GREAT.
