Subject: Exhaust Install Complete IP: Logged
Message: Hey all, I just installed my DynoMax muffler#17748 last night. I managed to use the stock tail pipe, note if you attempt to do this, buy a 3" 2 1/2 ID to 2 1/2 OD sleeve, and it will all fit like a glove. Maybe this was overkill, but I also bought a universal hanger for the muffler side, to add support similiar to the stock setup. One problem I notice now is a slight hesitation if I stomp on it from a stop, any thoughts on how to remedy this? Would reseting the PCM help? I like the low sound, and the fact that it does not buzz me out of the cab. I also like the sense of extra power when passing. Thanks

Message: Just got mine done too...and I like it!
Since I have a 5spd I can't address your hesitation, but wanted to chime in with the same mods.
I installed the IP power stackII first, then a few days later the 3923s & reset the computer. That's when I noticed the biggest difference in power. Today, installed the Dynomax & reset the computer again. Seems to be giving me at least 10% improvement in mpg (I burn half a tank/day commuting)over previous all stock w/Tornado air.

Message: Chris, I just reset my PCM(on my lunch, couldn't wait hehe), and the exhaust seems a tad bit louder, and the truck seems to run better/stronger. This is the first time I have reset it since I have had it. It sounds good none the less. Also the hesitation I notice is only if I floor it from a stop. If I ease on the idle it seems fine. My mods were about the same as you, plugs, waited 2 weeks intake, waited a few more weeks now muffler. The ? that looms now is whats next? I am thinking cap, wires.

Message: I hear ya...seems like now that I've started, I want more & more. I was thinking cap & wires too, but haven't ever gotten a noticible improvement from them in the past on other vehicles. From what I'm reading on the boards, TB seems to be the best bang for the $ if I continue down this path. It's more $ than I want to spend anytime soon though. I'm wondering how TB compares to chip/module with regard to performance and mpg vs $$?

Message: TB does sound good, at least from all of the posts I hae read. It makes me want to go to my local bone yard and see if I can scavenge one.

Message: Heh - was just reading more on speedtweaks.net & appears I didn't reset my PCM...just disconnected the battery (both terminals)...but will have over 200 miles by this time tomorrow. If I could only find a wrench around this place...
Also noticed that they address initial stomp-on-it-hesitation w/instructions for adjusting TPS. That's probably what you need to do if it bugs ya.

Message: Cool, thanks Chris, I will have to check it out.
It doesnt bug me too bad, but if I can eliminate it that would be cool to. I will check it out and let you know.
