Message: DakotaDan,
Whats up buddy i decided to go with the Volant instead of the K&N. I heard to much about the K&N cracking at the base of the throttle body and I decided against it. (Have you checked/had this problem I hope not:) I went with the volant and the installation went smooth. I think they forgot to include a $1.36 #072 metal hose clamp for the heat shield but homedepot has those and I am happy. Is your K&N make a swoosh/sucking air sound, mine makes one especally with the A/c on at around 2000rpm oh well i guess i will have to get used to it.

Message: 10K miles no cracks, The crack problem was corected by the time I received mine, and K&N has been great about replaceing them from what I have heard. The heat sheild must block most sounds from it, the only time I hear it is when I put my foot in it hehehhehe........

Message: Mulach,
I took the volant off because it was not seating on the top of the throttle body correctly and letting in unfiltered air, I Fu%ke$ with the damn thing for about an hour then gave up and took it all off. Yes it was my first mod, and the rpm's/throttle response was a bit quicker but its not worth letting unfiltered air into my engine. I will probably give the K&N drop in filter a try next or do a homebrew with the stock airhat, and if the place where i got it gives me a hard time about returning it I will sell it on e-bay or fabricate something out of the volant with the stock air hat.
for what its worth it was part number26952 and sounded and looked really cool just like in the picture.
