Message: i was cleaning my tb the other day and i noticed the holes on the top of intake manifold might not be as large as the 48mm holes on the tb, i had no tape so i couldnt measure it but, if the holes on the manifold are smaller should i port them to 48mm? anyone done this?

Message: I have no idea what size in MM a V6 TB is to a V8 but if you have swapped to a V8 sized TB than in American measure you went from 1 5/8 to close to 2" bores.
All V6 manifolds have matching bores @ 1 5/8, if you want to do it right than port your manifold to match your TB whatever the size may be.
Have you ever heard of "port matching"?
So many people keep asking the same question on here.

Message: when you port out the intake manifold to match the 48 mm holes on the v8 tb, do you have to make it an exact circle match or can you make it a lil bigger. also, do you have to remove the manifold or can you do it while it is still attached to the engine
thanks

Message: In an internal combustion engine equal flow is the best way of aproaching anything, in that yes it would be a god idea to have the bores ported exactly (or close as possible) to each other.
I can tell you though that I have done alot of "backyard" porting and modding and see very little difference between machine shop porting and my own, but there is a difference and if your lookin for ultimate performance and reliability than have a professional do all porting your not completely familliar with.
DO NOT port the intake on the engine.
You will be able to put alot of wet rags down in the intake and yes you will be able to vacume out most of the grindings but its not worth the risk.
Just my opinion, im not a mechanic but I play one on TV. lol
