well when i drive down the road doing about 60, i let off the gas and everything is quiet, when apply the gas again it makes a whineing noise
i know it prolly not a BIG problem since our hunting van has done it the past 70k miles
any ideas

Well after driving though a deep pubble of water, the next day my Durango 5.2L V8 have that same problem, only when I accelerate. I changed the filter and fluid. But it is still there, going to take it to the dealer tomorrow to see what up.
Let you know what they say.

Jim, you will need your gears in truck rear placed. Mine also did that also, the dealer replace the gears in my truck and the sound is gone. My is in the front, found out that my tranny is going. I mean its a 4x4 and it should be able to go though some water. Dag, this sucks. It still moving and taking me places where I need to go, but it time to invest in a extended warranty. I going to www.accelwarranty.com, you can buy an extended warranty from them. Log on an see if your truck can be covered. It don't hurt. Talk to Stephanie Cross she will be hooking me up with and 60 month/100,000 warranty. This covers just about the whole truck for $1397.34. Where is the IDLER PULLEY/TENSIONER, it sound like it coming for the tranny area. Is that in that area. It sluggish when the whining starts. It don't happen evertime I accelerate just sometimes. When I'm stopped at an light I hear something spinning, still in the tranny area.

Do you guys find any probs with dealers not accepting 3rd party warranties? Neither one of the Dodge dealers local to me accept anything but the DC extended warranty. Is that the norm? After dealing with having Pepboys take 11 days replace the diff seal on my truck, I'd like to find somewhere else to work on it in the future.

I did at one time, because they didn't pay for the first job I had done. That was the dealer fault, they didn't notify the warranty spot and went on and fix the truck anyway. They lost 5000+ on my truck. They was working on the engine and drop a washer in the throttle body then started the engine. Replaced the entire engine, then they didn't replace the transmission back correctly and destroy my tranny and front/rear transfer cases (4x4 system). No cost to me. As you know I never went back to that dealer and the dealer was shut down by DC, I think an new owner open it back up again. But anyway I think my dealer had something to do with, DC not accepting 3 party warranty. But my warranty service is from Accel Warranty (www.accelwarranty.com)my rep is Stephanie Cross, use code# SBNJ and they get accepted by everybody I got to. They cover just about the whole truck, her tel is: 817-299-8386 give her a call and see what she can do for you. She hook me up with an 60 month/100,000 mile warranty, that means when I brougth it three months ago, I cover till year 2007 or 150837 mile for 1397.62. She set me up on an payment plan for 18 month x $77.62 = $1397.62. I really did like that, but you have to wait for 30 day or 1000 mile before it goes into effect.

I have a similar problem with my 92 Dakota, V6 auto 2wd. It normally does it between 1700 and 2100 RPM regardless or Gear. Also I have a problem with my breaks if anyone had advice. When I come to a stop I have this screaching noise in the rear and it continues until I get back up to around 15 to 20 mph. I took the rear wheels off the ground and put it in Drive it only makes the noise when the break is halfway down. The noise sound like it coming from the left side underneath the Cab. I think the proportion Valve may be the culprit, any guess?????
