Ok, I'm having hell trying to find upgrades for my 93' dak with a 3.9! If anyone could, what are some good upgrades for them? Where can I find the upgrades? Will I lose gas milage by doing a V8 TB swap? how much of a loss? What kind of affects would be the result of me running a 50 hp dry shot of Nitrous? Any help is much appreciated!

(1) Cold Air Intake (K&N or Intense Performance)
(2) Modified Throttle body or at least a V6 to V8 TB swap (No...you won't loose any MPG unless you've got your foot into it)
(3) Headers and/or a good Cat-Back exhaust system
(4) 180 degree T'stat
(5) Autolite 3923 Plugs, Borg Warner Cap & Rotor, and a good set of plug wires
(6) NX Base EFI Kit running with the 75HP shot for street and 100HP shot for the track (1 second quicker with this...at minimum)

You can use the Sneeky Pete dry system but the 50HP shot is about all you can run without fuel enrichment (safety factor). Do the basics first though to get the most out of the Nitrous.

Do you think I'd be able to break 9's in an 8th mile with these mods? Also, what will happen as a result of N.O.S. ? I've heard it can be damaging and I'm still paying on the truck, I don't want to really risk my reliability. I've also heard of loss of N/A horsepower when using Nitrous? Could you clarify this?

That would depend on driver skill, track conditions, and vehicle weight in current form.

Nothing will happen with Nitrous and whoever said it's a HP loss...they're full of it. Nitrous Oxide increases HP no matter how much or how little you run.

well bernd,

if you run too much you'll lose HP... that's cuz your engine will be in about 1,000 pieces.

Gabe: Hehehehe...very true. ;)

Quick: Swap out the factory airhat for a '97+ Dakota/Durango airhat and you can run the Intense Performance Stage-II 7" BigMouth.

Bernd what does it cost to and buy the "cold air" intake and make it work.... total? Roughly?
And a place to get both the intake and the "air hat" (I assume salvage on the air hat?) Let me know Thanks
