Subject: 98 DAK 60,000 miles IP: Logged
Message: I just bought a used 98 DAK and it is approaching 60K. I am going to do some maint. and wanted to know which items I should replace that are prone to failure. I am replacing plugs, wires, pcv, belt, cleaned the K&N Filter. Should I be replacing the timing chain??? And is there anything I am missing besides the oil and lubrication of chasis. Thanks for your comments.

Message: I have a 98 also. Unless you are having a problem with timing or hear a noise in the front of the motor that you can't find, the timing chain should be good for a while. Look for oil down the throttle body for a bad belly pan gasket.
Check the ball joints, replace with Moog parts if bad. Change transmission fluid and filter. Flush radiator and fill with new fluid. Inspect the brakes. If you get all this done you should be in good shape.
