 Subject: Mobil 1 Filter Leaked

hey all
I decided to spend the extra few bucks and buy a mobil 1 oil filter ($10.50 +tax) still using dino oil until I hit 5000 miles. I wanted the extra protection. I did the oil change all went well. Made sure that the rubber seal ring on the old filter came off, lubed the new mobil 1 filter installed it and filled the truck. Took truck for a test drive and brought it back and took a look for leaks. Sure as god made green apples the filter was leaking. I tightned it a little more and let it sit. Next day took a look no leaks went to work took a look under after the drive to work and the da%n thing was still leaking/dripping. Went to Napa after work picked up a Napa gold installed it and new oil and no more leaks. Guess I got a bad filter out of the bunch the Wix was half the cost and to this point no more leaks.

I hate frams, I have had so many crush on me while taking them off, and now they put that grip crap on the end so that you cant put them new sockets on them. And now places around me are starting to dx the acdelcos I use, I gotta decide on what filter to go to next. So thanks for posting about that brand.

I hope this helped, remember that Mobil 1 makes and awesome filter, very strong probably wont crush on ya, i will probably use them again i just was pissed i spend 10.50 for a filter and the thing leaked. probably a 1 in a million occurance. YOu said you have always used ac delco keep doing that, use just about anything but fram they will do more harm then good from what i have read. take it easy
