Lets see that would be a 5S-FE in the Corolla and they weren't equipped with VVTI back then. The 5S is a dog off the line but makes good power at high revs. Even with your heavy truck you should take him off the line with your low end torque, but i think the Corolla will pass you once you get up to 40-50 MPH.

i think ur right actually haven driven both cars. the corolla starts to really pick up around 40 while my truck hits a dead spot in the 40-60 range.
