 Subject: belt tension torque

I forgot who, but somebody asked for this. This may have been answered last Friday, but the torque to release tension on my V6 serpentine belt tension pulley is 25 foot pounds.

That was me, I tested it this weekend at 10lbs on mine. Its currently in the shop since 7 am (now1:40) and no answer yet. I took it in with 6 miles left on my warranty. Talk about cutting it close. Knowing them they will prob blame it on the power pully. Along with blaming other crap on something else. I took it in for.....
1. Belt tensioner
2. Od button
3. crusie button
4. seat wont hold position
5. Driver side quarter window
6. recal on upper arm bushing
I think they were slightly pissed, but I dont care. Get my $$ worth on my extended warranty :D

Woohoo, 3:30 I get an answer. Belt tensioner replaced, od button replaced, cruise button replaced, seat parts ordered, Window not under warranty. And they said my bushing was fine. I'm happy, I say it was worth my 50 bux.

Good deal, I'd say you got $50 bucks worth too. Check the tension on your new pully and report back please. I'm curious what it will be, also checking it will confirm they actually replaced it.

OO, they replaced it. I already looked, its plastic now where it was steal :( And all new bolts, and its not as nasty as the rest. but will throw wrench on it tommorow for ya.
