Message: Here's the sinerio, 1988 4x4 V6, TBI, Our story begins with the vehicle acting like its running out of gas, I change the fuel pump, filter, etc. It runs for awhile, how long depends on "its" mood. Im a Laser operator,so I think " How hard can it be to solve this problem?" Theres 3 primary conditions that must be met in order for this motor to run, right?.1- Is the motor internally sound? - Yes. 2 Do I have fuel? - Yes 3 Do I have spark - ahhhhhhhhh Yes ,but very weak , and sometimes not at all. So I read the manual and desperately hit all the web forums. Ive replaced the following... Single control ignition module(not cheap) The Auto-shutdown relay(supposedly notorius for this problem..It then starts, runs for 1 day, then "NO MORE SPARK" I I replace cap and rotor( now I have spark, but very red and weak. I replace the coil( No spark now) I know I should put it out of Its misery at this point, but this puzzle has drove me beyond normal logic. I am now obsessed by a Dodge Dakota that follows no known logic. Please Help Mike
