Yep I have the same problem. I ran mid-grade gas for awhile and it got rid of it. Then I put in new plugs (bosch platnium +4) and it didn't knock any more on reg gas. However this didn't last long now I'm back to plus.

I have pinging in my 3.9L when under load (serious acceleration or pulling a trailer). Higher octane fule or a colder plug will fix this. The Autolite 3922 or 3923 should do the trick.
