Subject: Power Steering Pump Leak IP: Logged
Message: Got a 98 V6 with approx. 70K miles and found that all of my power steering fluid leaked out the other day. Anyone else have problems with the power steering pump on an engine this young?

Message: Every Chrysler product I've owned has needed a new power steering pump and with alot less miles than yours. Don't get a factory replacement. They had to cut costs and the suppliers obliged them by giving junk parts. I work for Chrysler.

Message: It looks like the high pressure hose is leaking, is it a simple replacement or is there more to it?

Message: hey guess what yer power steering pump is not made by mopar it is made by the saginaw steering gear division of General Motors. chrysler bid out the work in '78 and they gave it to them then and no-one makes that style of pump cheaper, saved them a whole dollar per car/truck and took the best pump on the market and replaced it with the worst.

Message: Check speedtweaks.net on this. I'm pretty sure on their "Tips and Tricks" link there is mention of a recall for the Dak power steering pump hose. I may be thinking of a diferant car though so don't jump my case if I'm wrong.
