Subject: Sneeky Pete Question for Bernd IP: Logged
Message: Hey bernd, I'm thinking of installing the sneeky pete on my 01 sixer. You're running that system right? How does it do? I was thinking of just a 50 shot to give me that advantage between the stoplights :-)
Do you think its worth the money? How easy is it to install? Thanks a bunch bernd!!!

Message: It's worth the money, but get a 5lb. bottle. The standard "baby bottle" (1lb) doesn't last very long at all.
It's a cinch to install...the only thing you'll need to do is find a place for the bottle. BTW: Mount the solenoid in the engine compartment. It's easier this way and you can tuck the 1lb. bottle just about anywhere without worrying about busting the solenoid. (And do NOT use the 9V battery adapter they supply you with...hook it up to 12V.)

Message: Its a dry system, right? How do you have yours activated? Do you just use a WOT switch and a master arm switch? I've never used nitrous before and I have a lot to learn :-) With just a 50 shot, do I have to worry about running lean? Thanks again bernd!

Message: Yup...it's a dry system. You can run the 50HP shot without any problems. Anything higher, and you really should be using a wet system. (Some have claimed to run a 150HP dry shot without any fuel enrichment...i've seen on personally...and it just scares the bejeezuz outta me thinking what they're doing to the engine.)
Yes, I have a throttle switch on my TB linkage bracket and a arming switch on my dash (Red cover over the switch).

Message: Where on the dash did you mount the switch? Just getting some ideas to put mine. The NX system does not come with the red cover switch (if I remember correctly), where can I find a similar one? Part#?

Message: I had a hole on the left side of the dash under the vent ('97 model). There was a plug in the hole so I drilled the hole to fit the new switch. The NX kit only comes with a standard, lighted, switch...not with a cover.
I'll try to find the part number I used.

Message: Only thing i'd suggest is upgrade the 2LB bottle to a 5LB (at minimum). It works with basic mods as well.
