it is now 3 years after the last comment. I own a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. The Vortex 88102 muffler definitely has a deeper tone than any flowmater ive ever heard. It is not too loud like some other brands. It it so deep that it rattles the glass in the house windows and the dishes in the cabinet!
:)

Glad you like your vortex

I know this is an old thread but I just came across it and thought I'd add the comment that I used to have a 2002 SR5 Tundra, I put a Vortex muffler on it and then for some reason decided to throw a flowmaster 40 series on it just to compare. The Vortex actually sounded throatier than the Flowmaster. I've since sold the Tundra and bought a 3.4L 99 4Runner. Luckily I kept the old Vortex and I'm actually going to install it on my 4Runner to once again have that deep rumbly tone. I'd go with a Vortex over a 40 or even 50 series Flowmaster any day and I've had V6's with all three! Peace

A question please; I'm fed up with the noise inside the cab with my Flowmaster. I like being able to go 10 MPH faster at the same MPG as before, but would like a bit less noise.
Does the Vortex or another muffler fit into what I'm looking for?

Yup, the vortex sounds really nice in the cab. It can actually be kinda deceiving(sp). Cause in the cab it sounds 'ok' so I always ask friends how it sounded, and untill I had a buddy drive it past me, I didnt realize just how good it does sound...

I tell ya what, get a 2.5 in and 2.5 out single, and if you dont like it, I'll buy it! I want to put duals on the truck and need a 2nd one soon.
